Mission and Values
More for you!
Trade union organization doesn't come into being on its own, it needs you and your coworkers.
The workers, you and we united, are the union. Dialogue and awareness are effective tools for better individual and collective results.
STPT establishes protocols with several entities, thus benefiting its members with discounts and special conditions.
STPT has a legal office where you can obtain information or consultations on all legal matters.
We are a group of men and women who will successfully carry out the mission of representing the interests of workers.
It is our fundamental objective:
- Fight against any plans or actions by Management to dismiss workers without just cause in the Group's companies.
- Demand the creation of new jobs for young people looking for their first job or who have precarious employment with the Group's companies.
- Continue to be a democratic, critical and constructive union, with a sustained and determined strategy in defending workers regardless of their professional position.
- Continue to be highly dedicated to our work, so that we are recognized as a leading trade union organization in all Altice Group companies.
- Maintain our trade union association at a national level equidistant from the Trade Union Centers and intermediary organizations dependent on them (whose objectives and actions continue to be decided by partisan interests), as well as maintaining clear independence and autonomy in relation to the management bodies of the Group's companies!
- Maintain our international membership in UNI.
- Work, whenever necessary, in conjunction and unity of action with other unions representing Altice Group workers, or in partnership with national and international unions linked to the telecommunications sector, gathering in this space the knowledge necessary for the development of labor relations and collective bargaining!
To embody these principles, we rely on STPT's main asset: our partners.
We want:
- Defend the right to employment with stability and socio-labor rights.
- Continue negotiating a collective contractual basis (Collective Labor Agreement) for all Group companies, balanced in terms of rights and duties, as well as developing appropriate actions and demands that allow for progressively updating salaries and benefits.
- Guarantee the right to Health Plans managed by MEO Healthcare with the best quality at affordable costs for its beneficiaries.
- Ensure legal monitoring and processing in contentious situations with the Administration.
- Fight to defend workers with precarious contracts in their eventual integration into Group companies, demanding that Management create new jobs.
- In professional development, guarantee the right to qualifying training and adequate remuneration, through selection and evaluation criteria that are transparent and participated by workers with union intervention.
- Encourage and create ways to attract new members, especially among younger members and senior management, as the most appropriate way to defend their interests, while also ensuring financial stability appropriate to the union's activities and its ability to make demands.
- Defend, from a perspective of freedom for senior management, criteria of transparency in their evaluation and differentiation of merit, protecting their future from circumstantialism and cronyism or sponsorship.
- Guarantee the stability and rights of workers who are no longer active, in particular, the right to update the remuneration installments of our members in pre-retirement situations and suspension of their employment contracts, linking them to the union through continuous information, through cultural, recreational and leisure initiatives.
- We also urge retirees to remain connected to the union through their membership, lending their experience and knowledge, thus giving even more strength and experience to our activity.
- Maintain, improve and diversify, in addition to union activity, various benefits for members and their families, within the union's economic capabilities, such as: access to universities and discounts on school books, Christmas gifts for children, vacations, camping and caravaning, travel, car accessories, private legal support for members, etc.
Program for the four-year period 2024/2028
WITH STPT, MORE FOR YOU!
During the mandate that has just ended, we identified our main mission as maintaining the right to employment, and therefore, without hesitation, we acted by all legal means against the Transfer of Establishment and against Dismissals.
In defense of beneficiaries, we act legally to annul the changes to the Classic Health Plan made unilaterally by Comex.
In February 2022, STPT began a collective bargaining process with INTELCIA Portugal, a Call Center company of the Altice Portugal Group.
We continue to advocate for a remuneration model that incorporates a portion of the Company's annual operating results, plus inflation, aimed at motivating employees and ensuring the sustainability of the business organization.
We presented a proposal for negotiation on the teleworking regime to the Executive Committee.
We have been following the possible (with great fear) sale of Altice Portugal, which has brought unrest and fear to Workers.
The STPT expects the government to maintain its right to oppose the law and to enforce workers' rights. Therefore, the STPT requested a meeting with the Prime Minister, given the legitimate interest of workers' representatives in monitoring the sale of Altice Portugal.
We assert ourselves as a democratic and autonomous Union with a sustained and determined strategy in defending Workers.
We continue to have a goal, a vision. We believe in the future! We will work every day with the utmost dedication to be recognized as a leading trade union organization in Portugal.
To realize this vision and objective, we rely on STPT's most important asset: our members! Each of us is essential to ensuring the Union continues to achieve its goals and offer everyone the best solutions to defend their rights and interests.
CONTINUE AS A STRONG AND INDEPENDENT UNION.
Keeping our trade union association equidistant from trade union centers, unions and federations, and clearly independent from the management bodies of the Group and Companies.
Taking advantage of our international integration within UNI, we will work together with other unions representing the Company's workers, or in partnership with foreign unions linked to the sector, in defense of the rights of all of us: also gathering in this space the knowledge and information necessary for the development of labor relations and collective bargaining in the telecommunications sector, with a predominance in European countries and in others where the Company has influence.
A COMPANY AT THE SERVICE OF CITIZENS
The path to democratizing the information society and unlocking the potential of the knowledge society, necessarily involves a strong and innovative company with the capacity to invest in creating more value in the future!
We want and will fight for a dynamic company that innovates by making products for the Portuguese people. We want a company with essentially Portuguese suppliers providing jobs with rights, developing our economy and creating a better society for its citizens.
WE WANT YOUR TRUST AND WE WANT YOUR VOTE FOR:
- Defend the right to employment, and labor and emotional stability with contractual rights;
- Act against all forms of harassment as unwanted behavior based on discrimination with the aim of embarrassing the Employee and affecting their dignity;
- Defend the existence of a collective contractual basis (Collective Labor Agreement) for the entire Group, making the rights and duties of Workers similar or equal, regardless of the Company in which they work;
- Defend the right of all Group Workers to health, through affordable access to Health Plans managed by MEO Cuidados de Saúde;
- Fight for the defense of workers with fixed-term contracts in the Group's companies, to guarantee transparency in labor relations;
- In the professional development of each individual (professional career), we will defend the right to qualifying training and positive differentiation through selection criteria and 360º performance evaluation, which are transparent, democratic and participated by Workers and the Union;
- Encourage and generate mechanisms to attract young workers to union activity and membership, as the best way to defend their interests;
- Defend the stability and rights of workers, pre-retirees, as well as those already retired and retired early or with suspension of the employment contract, linking them to the Union through regular information and through cultural, recreational and leisure initiatives;
- We also urge retirees to stay connected with us, lending their experience and knowledge to strengthen the Union;
- Maintain, improve and diversify, in addition to union activity, various benefits for members and their families, which includes numerous protocols signed with a wide range of institutions, private legal support for members, etc.);
- More intervention on social media, greater involvement of members in the life and decision-making of STPT;
- Create conditions to facilitate union consolidation (merger) in the telecommunications sector, generating a new, strong, dynamic and active union, adapting the STPT to future statutory changes.
